Paper Butterfly
Tear the wings from my back,
I don't need them.
Rip the color from my soul,
I won't use it.
Take the wings and draw on them a picture
that will make you happy.
I forget exactly why I am here.
I think that my beauty is tainted,
I am wasted on you...
**** on and on, glide the wind, I am the wind...I reach for you****
Paper Butterfly,
tell me you are not so fragile
that I can rip your wings with a strong gust...
please tell me that you are not so fragile that I blow away
the beautiful coating of colors that you use to glide upon me....
I am what allows you to live...
I am what allows you to die.
****flitter away****
I land upona leaf,
its nectar calls me
and my wing is caught on a vine...
I am so fragile that the vine rips into me enough
that I can't move
and I am devoured by grief.
