I finally got a new version of our DVD movie list completed. It lists our original DVDs, DVD-R, and DVD+R discs. It's as good an idea of what we have available to watch as anything else I can produce. The database is kept up in MSAccess, which is the less of other evils I could utilize at the moment. It's not a pretty list, but it is readable. Ahhh...you read books? What? NO...those paper rectangles with words that can lead you to other worlds, realities, and ideas. For a time you leave your current reality and join the words in a dance where rabid werewolves punt kittie cats across the ice rink, and where anything could happen. It gives you perspective on your real life away from the words of their pages, but it also gives you insight and armor when you read ever more literary works. A skewered view of some story that fell short of what in your head it could've been, maybe a wonderfully warm surprise of a gem that had looked to fail you. Either way you work it books far overpower the glaze that other mediums can leave. Given your imagination's free reign the colors, the sounds, the smells, and all the rest keep you smiling, sighing, or possibly crying... Yes friends, I am officially not a collector anymore. I got rid of a lot, but kept what I enjoy. I still buy, but not very often. My reasons were in a keen statement, but that was then.
