"a ring's road"

clouds, like fingers, smoke as walls,
dark force brought with thunder, calls,
speaking to every bird, rodent, fox,
the land in chaos, madness is the cost.

ancient lore could answer you, fables, tale,
if ever you queried for reason, biting your nails,
one day or another, evil will triumpth,
but until then our heroes have stepped up.

Middle Earth and jewels, several golden rings,
nazguls and balrogs, kings, queens, and orcs,
Hobbits and Elves, in peace, they sing,
else on ill journey they are forced.

so sent four Hobbits, men, elf, and dwarf,
led by hidden ring wearer, a wizard named Gandalf,
running from nearly invisible rider,
half by moon, half by Sun, asleep beside her.

underestimated race, halflings those four,
Frodo bearing yet a stronger ring, the One,
burning all others with darkness, sly door,
opening the world to carnage, one ruler alone.

said ring being so evil, must be lost, destroyed,
cast into the flames from whence it came,
melted down poison, all to avoid,
the end of a free world, keeping evil lame.

In the end, if only an end can be found,
Sauran, the right hand man of evil,
will cease and wither, be torn and ground,
baked into dust and powder, justly felled.

many will die, or face losing freedom,
all in search of some chance at peace,
on the backs and shoulders of a few,
lies the hopes and dreams of all beasts.
